Superb seed resembling Entada seeds but more fragile than them, they are on average 60mm long and 30mm wide.

The tree reaches a height of 15 to 40 m, with diameters of 100 cm. The bole is often irregular, unbuttressed or low buttressed, with a fluted base. It may be up to 6 to 10 m in length. Pentaclethra macrophylla occurs in closed forests, along riverbanks. It is dominant in secondary forests.
