Details
Variable size and shape, approximately 26mm long and 25mm in diameter, the doum palm seeds hide a vegetable ivory that can be polished and used in sculpture, turning or jewelry. Harvested by us in Madagascar, they have been dried for 10 years. The leaves of this African palm are used to cover roofs, while the leaf fibers are used to make mats, baskets and ropes. The sweet sap is also harvested to make palm wine.
