Superb black seed of around 14mm in length, shiny, topped with a remarkable small white aril.

From the bean family and similar to the bull's eye, this twining liana is very similar to the mascate pea (mucuna pruriens) but without the stinging hairs on the surface of the pods.

The seeds of Mucuna pruriens var utilis have been used for treating many dysfunctions in Tibb-e-Unani (Unani Medicine), the traditional system of medicine of Indo-Pakistan Subcontinent and Ayurvedic medicine.
